WOMAN BEHIND THE MOVEMENT

Moiika means "Queen" in Tagalog, thus by definition this Queen of Dance took her position at birth.

Moiika is a multi-faceted dancer having technical training in ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop, but specializing in Afro-Caribbean Dance.

Moiika tours the World teaching Dancehall workshops and has a regular class based in Los Angeles, CA.

Moiika holds a Bachelor’s in  Dance Pedagogy, her performance career began as a background dancer for music videos and tours. She has toured and performed with Madonna, B2k, Mase, Puff Daddy, Mr Vegas, Red Rat, Elephant Man, Aidonia, Spice, Snoop Dogg, E-40, she also played a cheerleader in the movie “Like Mike” starring Michael Jordan and Lil Bow Wow.

Moiika placed 1st RU in the International Dancehall Queen competition held in Jamaica after winning the regional Miss California Dancehall Queen.

Refusing to plateau moiika was looking for her next step when she linked up with Multi-platinum Grammy producing Rhano Burrell who believed she could be “the next Patra”, since then Queen Moiika has collaborated with a myriad of producers inclusive of Rob Fusari (Lady gaga), DreDay, Blaq Sheep and Reggie Rockstone.

Moiika  distinguishes her self by being the first and only lyricist who is also a professional dancer and model and  has accolades in all three fields. Embracing the California swagg, bred in Jamaica, but straight out of the Philippines, brace yourself for Dancehall Queen Moiika.
